It's starting to cool down here in Carmel Valley. Although "Fall" weather here is still about a month away, we are finally starting to get in the mood. Over the weekend we decided to grab a quick snack at one of our favorite spots in the Village, Corkscrew Cafe. We sipped on bubbly rosé and nibbled on roasted garlic and toasted bread. Ivy wore this lovely plum colored dress as she transitions her wardrobe from bright colors of summer to autumnal gem hues.

Red has been a color Ivy loves to wear for a while, and yes part of it may have been because of Taylor Swifts album Red, but it also complements her fair skin. This jumpsuit is fun since it is a little different than any other jumpsuit we own, it is loose on the bottom and cropped above the ankle. The bodice is reminiscent of a tube top. Ivy paired it with this cute minimalist backpack and booties to not distract from the jumpsuit. Red is a perfect color for all seasons, but we think this look would be the perfect pop of color for a summer bbq in the park.

Its been two weeks since the Soberanes Big Sur fire broke out in our hometown, and the smoke has been intense. Although it creates a pretty orange glow to the light and sky, the air quality isn't healthy. We were planning for a weekend laying by the pool but with the air being so smokey we decided to do a little wine tasting (surprise surprise). Ivy wore this luxe bohemian dress that went well with the smokey hews in the valley. She paired her dress with some silver and turquoise jewelry to add to the casual boho look. The brand of this dress is "The Jetset Diaries" because the clothing line is suppose to be quintessential to any jet-setter's wardrobe...and we agree! Chambray fabric was made for summer. Its the perfect fabric to wear when you (like us) love denim but it's too hot outside to wear. Whether you are looking for something to keep you cool, or need a light extra layer (we love layering chambray button ups with summery dresses), chambray will do the trick. Eve and I decided to go out for a casual Sunday glass of wine at Cowgirl Winery in Carmel Valley last weekend. The weather was nice but there was a bit of a breeze so I picked a long yet thin cardigan to go over my chambray dress. We love layering a long cardigan with a short and sassy dress. ;) This dress is perfect for a casual day look, and perfect as a beach coverup. Eve wore a chambray romper that opens in the back. She paired it with a fun strappy bra. This romper is perfect for a day to night look in the summer when the evenings get a little chilly. Dress it up with strappy heels for summer going out look.

Ivy has been using Le Tote for almost 4 full months and is OBSESSED with it. There are so many trending items on the site we love and are excited to try. Plum Picking Perfect!

Almost every June, Ivy housesits for one of her oldest friends. It's always a treat to stay at their home because they have a beautiful estate with rose gardens, lemon trees (literally about to break with the weight of the huge lemons) and one big plum tree also about to break from the bountiful crop. This year was perfect timing. Ivy picked several bags of plums and enjoyed plumb crumble with some and made the rest into plum jam. It was a hot day, so Ivy picked out this vintage style dress with polkadots to wear as she walked around in the grass picking sweet plums. What a perfect summer day!

With the warm breeze blowing through Carmel Valley this past weekend, we could feel summer's closeness. We just can't wait for the summer heat! Although it's getting warmer out, in the evenings you still want to wear jeans. Ivy picked this cute tribal top out on Le Tote to pair with these super comfy heels. They are just high enough to feel dressy, yet they won't kill your feet. Despite the top being long sleeve it is made with a light and airy material so it doesn't heat you up. We think this top is great if you want to wear tribal prints but not be too overwhelming. We paired it with this cute fringe bag because we adore everything with fridge right now. Ivy's necklace is from Lat & Lo, a latitude and longitude jewelry line. This one has the latitude and longitude for Carmel Valley, our home town! Our parents got us each one of these necklaces to remind us, wherever we are in the world, home is where the heart is. These are great for gifts for anyone, and perfect for high school grads moving away for college in the fall!

Living Like a Wildflower

This time each year, the lupin flowers are in full bloom. The wildflower blooms depend on how much rainfall we get every winter. This winter was supposedly El Niño. We did receive more rain then recent years but not as much as we had expected. With the extra rainfall we knew the wildflowers were going to be bursting this year! We decided to take a drive in Ivy's GMC truck and visit them over the weekend. The photos don't do them justice! The soft smell wafts fragrantly through the hills and valleys. We wish we could bottle it up in a perfume! Ivy was waiting to wear this dress for a trip to the beach but couldn't wait any longer. The fabric is light enough to be a beach coverup though it can easily be dressed up for more formal occasion.

We know living in California doesn't give us many excuses to complain about the weather, but it's been pretty overcast and dreary here recently so it only makes us miss the sun even more!
